Starting point: Diakofti village.
Diakofti, the picturesque fishing village of Kythira with the traditional cells with large doors for the fishermen’s boats that are still preserved on the sandy beach of the picturesque village. Today it is the main port of the island, and the starting point for the M37 hiking trail.

On the way, we will come across a small abandoned village called the Five Wells, and several traditional centuries-old buildings with arches, including the stone bench that the locals called Kamarioti’s cafe, where the hikers with their animals used to rest. Along the enchanting route we enjoy wonderful natural landscapes with meadows clothed with sage, heather, thyme and other native plants. Continuing the route, at approximately its highest point there is a detour that leads to the monument of Kolokotronis, in honor of the hero of the revolution of 1821.
